10 Things Not To Do After Applying for a Mortgage
1. Don’t take on any new debt! Wait to buy furniture and appliances till after you close.
2. Don’t use any funds out of your bank account after the statements have been given to lender for verification on funds to close (very important) don’t switch banks or move money around
3. Don’t change jobs, this may only be ok as long as it can be verified and the new job is in the same line of work.
4. Don’t cosign for any loans.
5. Don’t continue shopping around for a mortgage.
6. Don’t be tempted to buy now, no payments for 12 months.
7. Don’t enter into consumer credit counseling or file bankruptcy.
8. Don’t buy or lease a car.
9. Don’t pack too soon
10. Don’t throw out any important documents such as last paystubs, last years tax returns or anything that will be supporting information to get your loan approved.
